Hello, everyone! My sister, Aliya Haq, is an aspiring film maker. She was accepted into the honors program at Columbia College in Chicago, and it’s her dream to go there. My family has been anticipating her getting into this college for a long time, and she finally did. The only issue is that we don’t have enough money to enroll her there without loans, and we don’t want her to go across the country (from Dallas, Texas) in debt. She got a huge scholarship, because her grades are fantastic and her talent is unbelievable, but it’s still not enough. She works so hard. Everything she does is film-related.

This is where you come in. She’s entered in TXU Energy’s Film Competition with this extraordinary video. It blows all of the other contestants away. Currently, at 12:12 PM on 2/18/2014 she is in first place, but only by a few votes. Please, please use your Facebook and vote for her here. You can access the voting page by clicking on Highschool>view films and vote and then clicking on Title: ‘I am Electric, Director: Aliya Haq of North Hills Preparatory (Irving)’. Here is the link to watch the video on Youtube. Please watch it 1080p. Click here to like the video on Facebook and please share it with your friends. Please, please reblog this post to get the word out.

The grand prize is an opportunity for her submission to be shown at the 2014 Dallas International Film Festival, $3,750, two (2) tickets to attend the Gala Awards Dinner at the Festival, a video editing software and $3,750 for her school. This is such a big deal to us, I can’t even tell you.
